For the past ten hours or so, jacobwycoff.com was out. Fine I figured, I’d just do some more work on a developmental website I’m working on with Joe Roy. About halfway through the installation, I get the same error. I’m not a happy camper at this point. I did all the troubleshooting I could do, but nothing was doing the trick. I finally caved and called 1and1 (my website server host) for some technical support.
I spoke with a nice man named Froilan Tayong. He said there weren’t any problems on my end and he’d double check the servers (which I think are located in Germany). Regardless, he said it’d take an hour to run through diagnostic tests. Once again, I was fine with it, as long as this would solve the problem.
Then I get this email…
This is to further update you about the problem where your site shows an
error 500. After observing the problem where i was running a fix still
it doesn’t resolved the case. I came to decide to escalate the case to
the administrator to further continue the process and so that they will
be able to check at the backend server and be able to fix it straight at
the main server. I do apologize for the inconvenience that this has
caused you.
Dang… my site did come back online until about 9pm. I’d imagine the next few days are going to be spent doing more website development. Joe and I have some big plans, we just have to be patient and take our time. I guarantee this is a site you all will want to visit on a daily basis.
