Today I stumbled upon another time lapse, though this time it’s from this great country of ours. Dustin Farrell traveled to Arizona and Utah, capturing the beauty of sunsets out west.

I want to start with saying that the folks at the Bethesda Row Apple Store were amazing. Not only did they give me a chance to explain what happened, but they offered to give me a replacement iPad2, free of charge. Shout out to Caryn and Jamie. Thank you ladies so much.
Brand new iPad2
Apple has proven to me, time and time again, that they understand customer service. I started my Apple experience with a laptop five years ago that I still do my video editing on. I’ve gone through three iPods and have an Apple TV and wireless router. It’s safe to assume that I’ll be getting the iPhone5 (or 4S) when it comes out next month.
I want to be on the record and say this was absolutely my fault and Apple did NOT have to cover the repair. But they did.
Thanks Apple (and Caryn and Jamie) for doing the right thing for a customer. It is VERY much appreciated.
The broken iPad screen
About six weeks ago, I dropped my iPad 2 on the carpet. It hit in a way that squeezed the glass screen out over the metal rim. No big deal. The iPad worked normally and didn’t have any issues that I could see.
Last night I decided to try to push the glass back under the metal rim. BIG MISTAKE. The corner of the iPad screen shattered, sending shards of glass everywhere. I wanted to yell, but nothing came out.
I’ve done some research and found that Apple has a history of either fixing the screen for free or charging $400+ for repair. I’m optimistic being a longtime Apple user that they’ll be nice enough to fix this for free.
I have an appointment at the Apple Store in Bethesda this afternoon, so wish me luck. I’ll update everyone on how it goes a litte later.
That Fall-like weather that much of the east coast is feeling was ushered into Maryland last night. The cold front triggered a nice lightning show across much of the area.
Cloud-to-Ground lightning strikes last night
I was able to catch some video of the lightning. I didn’t have the best vantage point, but you get to see some of the intense strikes near Germantown.
